Sail, eat and be happy !                                               

"Sail and eat" 
Is a very special offer for those who want to ensure a memorable event.
Events always contain several elements: 
A sailing experience with active sailing and rowing: A cultural experience with a skilled and conscientious crew. The crew will instruct you in rowing and sailing and will tell about the vikings and their ships.
A nature experience of the Roskilde Fjord landscape; and not least
A culinary experience during the trip in a historic setting in the middle of a fantastic nature.

Beer, water, wine, coffee & tea must be ordered in advance.

Note! Due to safety, you are not allowed to bring your own drink on board ships.

And...by the way... remember your bathing outfit.

4 Hour trip incl. wok menu.

Start either 10:00am or 15:00pm from Lyndby beach.

After a brief safty instruction, we go into the boats.
Then we row out on the beautiful fjord and after a while we hoist the square sail.
Our goal is to reach a coast sheltered from the vind, often we find it at the beautiful peninsula Bognaes.
Once the we sail the ships into the shelter of the forest, as close to land as possible. We use our carrying dinghy to get ashore -  if you do not prefer to swim or wade to get there.
While we are ashore, the crew will prepare our food and "lay the table" on board the ship. Your will be summoned by the ship's bell when your meal is ready.

Menu:
Veal and vegetables with interesting spices, prepared in giant wok on the ship. In addition, rice salad, chilli dressing, bread and butter.

When we have finished eating, we clear the ship and head homeward.

        "In the Wake of the Kings"


5-hour event including: boating, delicious buffet at Gershøj Inn and bus back.

We meet at the old port at Roskilde at 10:00 am or at 15:00 am (indicative times).

After a welcome and brief safety and operational instructions, we row out on the fjord. The crew will inform you and instruct you as to how to sail a viking ship. Clear of the coast we hoist our sail and set out for the port of Gershøj.

Having passed the small island of Elleore, we steer towards Ølvig where it is possible to take a small break in the shelter of the forest. At this point it will be possible to enjoy beer, water, tea or coffee.


After the break we set out for Gershøj. Having rowed the last distance into the harbor and moored ship, we go to the Gershøj Inn, where staff are ready and waiting with a delicious buffet.

Menu:
Gershøj Inn makes a delicious homemade buffet with two variaties of meat and 5 different salads, inspired by the season. In addition, we serve our always fresh home baked focaccia.

After the buffet the bus arrives at 15:00pm or at 20:00pm and we take leave.

Viking cruise and delicious buffet on the ship.
Start kl.: 12:00, Lyndby strand,
5 hour event.

We start with a welcome and a brief safty instruction and then we go out on the fjord by oars. When we have cleared the coast we hoist our sail and go out past the Bognæs peninsula - Mølle krogen could be our goal, depending on wind and weather. Here we sail close to the beach and throw our anchors. We use our towed dinghy to get ashore and it is then possible to go for a little trip in land while the crew prepares our buffet. Your will be summoned by the ship's bell when dinner is ready.

Menu varies on the theme:
White steamed plaice fillet W / roasted shrimp in garlic butter, seasonal vegetables, pasta salad, braised veal, Greek potatoes,
freshly baked bread & butter.
                                                

After we have eaten and digested the buffet we 
hoist sail and make for home.

Viking cruise and big buffet on the beach.

Start 12:00 am at Roskilde Old Port, 8-hour event.

After a welcome and a short introduction we take the ship out of the port. Once out, we set sail we sail out via Kattinge cape and Veddelev, our first goal is Ølvig or Østskoven depending on wind and weather. Here we cast anchor and - if we wish - take a walk in the landscape. After this pause, we head West sailing along the scenic Bognæs to Lejre Vig. We go ashore at Lyndby beach where a buffet has been prepared - maybe in a Viking tent. Seated on soft lamb skins by low raw wooden tables by the light of the camp fire and oil lamps we shall regale ourselves with the buffet.
Menu varies the theme: White wine steamed wild salmon herbal crème; honey and ginger pickled root vegetables; marinated veal roast w/oregano, garlic, walnuts, sun-dried tomatoes and olive oil; heavily spiced humus; rice salad w/balsamico and lemon; Gouda (Dutch cheese), freshly baked bread & butter.
After the meal we gather at the fire, recover, and enjoy on of the world's finest views.
Entertainment can be arranged, for example Gny, a medieval musical ensemble (ask for specials).

At 20:00pm departure by bus directly from Lyndby beach to Roskilde

8-hour event with a trip to Selsø Slot
buffet in the castle cellar.

Start at 12:00 am (optional). Roskilde Port at "Havne-Grillen". Return bus to Roskilde (alternatively Copenhagen, ask for specials)

Tour description
After a brief instruction we stand out of the harbor. We make for Selsø slot and hoist our great square sail. We sail past the peninsula Bognæs and proceed across "the Broad". Well arrived at "Møllekrogen", we moor at the old boat bridge and walk up to the castle, which is located with an open view in the middle of a beautiful landscape. 
The crew will take you up to the castle and leave you with the castle stewart, who will tell you about and show you around the castle. When the tour of the castle is over, the cook will await you in the old castle kitchen.

Menu: Lemon sole stuffed with salmon served with creamy risotto, freshly baked bread and butter. Main course: Roast beef fillet with roasted potatoes, mustard marinated herbs; veal gravy with tarragon and green salad. Free bar.

Dinner entertainment can be arranged - singing and music (ask for specials).
